Cinderella's Ball - Flower Show

Standard Flower Show is "Cinderella's Ball" and we have all sorts of designs entered into the flower show such as: Lucifer's Bowl (it will be a vertical floral design), The Wicked Stepmothers' Dressing Table, Cinderella's Hope Chest, Corsage for a Ball Gown, etc. We have 36 arrangements with fun themes like these as well as some educational exhibits, wonderful decorations and LOTS of horticulture. It really should be a fabulous event, complete with your very own fairy godmother and the Queen. Guests should feel like they are in attendance at Cinderella's Ball.

21st Annual Loudoun Arbor Day Celebration
Admission: Free
Time: 10:00am-3:00pm, Parade begins at 11:00am

Arbor Day is organized by the Loudoun Arbor Day Committee to help educate children and adults about the benefits and importance of trees and to encourage tree planting. This year's celebration of trees includes a parade, formal ceremony, exhibits and demonstrations highlighting the numerous uses and benefits of trees, tree climbing with Arbor Artists, and educational opportunities like proper pruning techniques. Food and refreshments will be for sale and discounted tour tickets for the historic Oatlands mansion will be available for purchase. Otherwise, everything is free including tree seedlings being given away by the Virginia Department of Forestry and Loudoun Soil & Water Conservation District. Home Depot will conduct a “Kids Workshop” and provide free materials for children to build birdhouses. There will also be an opportunity to participate in costume making prior to the parade with free materials.

Treasure Hunt for Kids
Admission: Registration needed. $5 (includes bottled water, name badge, bandana, pouch, notepad.
Time: Two times (9:30am and 1:30pm)
Location: Smithsonian Air Space Museum DC
The current treasure hunts is geared toward elementary students. This hunt is expected to be fun and educational. In order to solve the clue, the children will be involved in creating replicas, building paper airplanes, and more. Some of the clues will have secret codes attached to them, to help decipher the final message to the treasure. Parents must remain with their children at all times. The children will be given a pouch,pen,a bandanna, and an envelop with educational clues in them. Each clue will lead the children closer to the treasure. The first group to decipher the message, and find the treasure wins a special prize(Toys R us gift certificate). Second group to win gets a semi-special prize. Pokemon Saturday

Please come join us for a Pokemon morning of fun. All kids in first grade and up are welcome to come for playing or for watching. You will have a chance to collect and trade cards. Play the card game, or bring your Gameboy or Nintendo and join the wireless group. Anything Pokemon is welcome. Teen Pokemon experts are encouraged to attend as well. Help us pass on the knowledge! May 18 will be the last Pokemon Saturday of the current school year.
